Yuppster
[edit]I took Yuppster's current place of employment out because it sounded (to me) like the sort of paragraph that's in a vanity page. At the very least, it was too casual -- it read like one of those bios that people write about themselves. Feel free to re-add it, but make sure the style is more encyclopedaic. — Adam Conover † 22:08, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)
Article Licensing
[edit]Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
Re: Scott McCloud / Webcomic
[edit]He is revolutionary, and I love his work, but I call him pretentious because he always seems to find obscure webcomics and call them the greatest things on earth, while almost completely ignoring the most popular webcomics. He just always comes across like those film critics who obviously know their stuff and have a great eye for cinema, but won't ever review anything released by a hollywood studio.
It's POV and I can't source it, but I still stand by it.

Drum and bass articles
[edit]Hi there, I just noticed that you created the article on DJ Hype, which is unusual in terms of dnb articles in that's it's detailed and well-written. I'm trying to get some users together to clean up drum and bass articles, so if you'd be interested, have a look at my user page. I'm going to start a Wikiproject next week, but the list is on my page until i can work out how to make a template to stick on the articles. I'm quite new to this business. Thanks illWill 00:32, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hello. I found your profile on WikiProject Philosophy. I'm looking for more perspectives to help resolve a debate in the Utilitarianism article on the difference between "Happiness" and the "Good". If you have any comments on the subject, please feel free to share them on the article's talk page. Thanks! --Malathion 8 July 2005 04:36 (UTC)
As a member of WikiProject Comics, I thought you might be interested in the Comics Collaboration of the Fortnight we have set up. Please feel free to vote on the articles listed, although bear in mind that a vote for a particular article means you are pledging to help improve the article. The goal of the collaboration is to improve articles to Featured Article status, as we feel Comics is under-represented in that area. Thanks for your help. Proposal on Notability
[edit]Because you're a member of the Association of Inclusionist Wikipedians, I'm notifying you that the inclusionist proposa Wikipedia:Non-notabilityl is in progress to define the role of notability in articles. Please help us make this successful! Also note the proposal Wikipedia:Importance is a deletionist proposla that seeks to officially introduce notabiltiy for the first time. Make sure this is defeated! --Ephilei 04:33, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I've added the "prod" template to the article Alpha & Omega (band), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Alpha & Omega (band). You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, an article you recently created, Blame (artist), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do and please read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 01:13, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry that I upset you, ZaQ. It was just a template that my editing tool automatically pasted onto your page after I posted a speedy deletion template on the article; I didn't personally write the message. As for the article, as you know, I posted the message over a year ago. I have absolutely no recollection of the case, but I would venture that the article was about a non-notable artist (and was not necessarily a "new" article, although the template apparently contained that word). I didn't delete it myself, though, so you might take it up with User:Sn0wflake if you want to recreate it. Best, -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 02:14, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'd take it up with the admin who deleted it, User:Sn0wflake. Only admins have access to the deleted content, and only admins can restore it. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 20:51, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is DJ Die. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DJ Die. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 09:23, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Roachgod! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 182 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the article:

A discussion has begun about whether the article Discogs, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Discogs until a concensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Guy (Help!) 10:32, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Fritz (comic).jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Fritz (comic).jpg, which you've sourced to A panel from a Cat Garza comic. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add OTRS pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 00:37, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bad Company (drum and bass group)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bad Company (drum and bass group) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Proposed deletion of Moving Shadow
[edit]The article Moving Shadow has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- NN defunct record label. Article laced with bogus citations
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The Dissident Aggressor 01:01, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
